The Chandris Group

The Chandris Group merged Celebrity Cruises with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. This merger allowed the Chandris Group to focus on operating ships instead of hotels, and Royal Caribbean subsequently changed its name to Royal Caribbean International and became the mother company of all of their brands.

John D. Chandris, a Chios native, started the Chandris Group as a shipping firm. At just 25 years of age, he bought his first ship. Within two years, he had four ships, and was able to expand his operations in the shipping industry. Chandris' family moved to England during World War II, where his father operated Chandris Cruises. The Charlton Steam Shipping Company was a specialist in the relocation of post-war refugees and was later acquired by the Chandris Group.

The Millennium Class

Celebrity Cruises operates the Millennium class of luxury cruise vessels. These ships were built in Saint Nazaire France, between 1999 & 2002. The Millenniums are known for their excellent food and friendly service. The Millenniums try to remove all gimmicks from the cruise journey.

Millennium class ships carry fewer passengers than 3,000, making them great for small groups. This allows guests to enjoy more intimate cruising. The Millennium class ships also have fewer venues than the Solstice and Edge classes, giving guests more privacy.

How To

How to avoid becoming seasick during a cruise

A hat can help prevent seasickness when you cruise. A wide-brimmed head hat can prevent motion sickness. It keeps the head still and helps keep it from moving.

Also, a cap keeps water off the skin and helps to reduce the moisture content of the air. This makes it easier for people who feel dizzy when they breathe in moist, humid air.

Another tip is that you should drink lots of fluids. Avoid alcohol or caffeine. These drinks dehydrate the body causing more fluid to move around in the stomach. Drinking enough liquids will help reduce the amount of salt in the bloodstream. Salt causes the body to retain water which leads to nausea.

If you do feel nauseous, try eating something salty. Salty foods can cause your stomach to produce more hydrochloric acids, which aids in breaking down food particles.

You can also take medications to alleviate seasickness if none of these methods work. Side effects of some medications include dry mouth, dry eyes, constipation and blurred vision.
